Giinagay – Hello
Unkya Local Aboriginal Land Council offers two (2) spectacular Cultural Eco Tours Experiences.
Our Cultural Eco Tours were developed by Michele Donovan, AnnaLisa Wilson who are both descendants of the Southern Gumbaynggirr people of the Nambucca Valley on the North Coast of New South Wales.
Their idea is to share their strong cultural connection to Gaagal Wanggaan National Park, where they grew up.
Gaagal Wanggaan Eco Tour is a 2.5 Hour walk through the serene, pristine Bush and Beach Walk.
Gurruuja Juun (Whale Tail) Tour is an easy 1.5 hour walk on the beautiful Scotts Head Liitle Beach and up and around the beautiful Headland with idyllic views of Little Beach and Gaagal Wanggaan (South Beach).
If you come take our Tours you will hear about the Gumbaynggirr people’s Creation stories of the how the sea was made on our Gurruuja Juun (Whale Tail) Tour, learn about the Gumbaynggirr people’s Traditions, Customs and Lore.
Customers will take a journey back in time and walk on the Traditional Lands of the Gumbaynggirr Ancestors, learn about the Gumbaynggirr people’s Traditional Ecological Knowledge, be part of our Smoking and Cleansing Ceremony.
Partake in Cultural ceremonies which Welcome the Humpback and Southern Right Gurruuja (Whale’s) journey through our Gumbaynggirr Homelands in June through to November.
Our tours are designed so that we get to share our beautiful, vibrant Cultural connection to our traditional Lands and Waters with everyone.
Our Cultural Eco tours are Aboriginal Owned and Operated and Authentic. The Tours are fully Guided by our experienced Tour Guides, who are Traditional Owners, Native Title Holders.
